The Counseling and Behavioral Health Clinic helps families of any income level with everyday problems build healthy relationships and heal from trauma and grief. Our licensed bilingual counselors serve families in schools, at parishes and in other locations throughout the community. Counseling also is integrated into other Catholic Charities programs because overall health is essential to self-sufficiency.
WE PROVIDE SUPPORT, GUIDANCE, AND INSIGHT FOR:
• Couples, premarital and marriage counseling to strengthen relationships
• Individuals who have experienced loss, trauma, or life changes
• Families seeking a better way to communicate.
• Youth dealing with peer pressure or bullying
• Parents who need guidance raising children with behavioral issues
• Individuals struggling with anger or anxiety
• Families adjusting to separation or divorce
• People who feel sad and alone
• Adults and youth coping with life’s daily stresses
• Caregivers supporting mentally ill and physically challenged loved ones
Due to the wonderful response of people wanting to meet with a counselor, all sessions are by appointment only to ensure your session with the counselor has been secured. Please no walk ins.
All those seeking counseling are asked to submit a request through Catholic Charities’ main system. From there your information will be reviewed and assigned. To request a session, please click on the “Request an Appointment” button and ensure that you specify that you would like to meet at the St. Luke Satellite location, if that is your preference. Hello! I’m Melissa Pollak-Chavez, an LPC Associate that recently graduated with a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas. I’m excited to be the counselor at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church! My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported on your personal journey. Therapy can feel intimidating at times, but together, we’ll work at a pace that’s comfortable for you, helping you navigate life’s challenges and grow along the way. I also provide services in Spanish.
When I’m not in my counseling role, I enjoy walking my German Shepherd (Luka), spending time with my husband and family, and getting lost in a good book. I am currently training for my first full marathon that I will be completing in January!
