"El Señor te llama hoy…."
St. Luke is blessed with the Intercessory Prayer Circle. Be a part of a telephone prayer circle and help pray for a specific need. 165 people form teams of prayer warriors (English, Spanish and Vietnamese) who are available day and night all year around to pray for specific needs. Requests are received and two or more pray together on the telephone for the needs. What a wonderful feeling to know your needs are being prayed for by many people.
Irene Holt one of the prayer warriors said:
" I have been on a prayer team for quite some time, I felt the Holy Spirit was leading me to pray for people so I volunteered to do this. I have heard of so many miracles and healings after the prayers, it is beautiful. Being a prayer warrior, helps me to concentrate on others and pray for their needs and problems. It also makes me realize how blessed I am, when I hear of so many needs, sickness, etc, it makes my problems seem small."
The primary purpose of the Legion of Mary is the sanctification of its members through prayer, the sacraments and devotion to Mary and the Holy Trinity, and of the whole world through the apostolate of the Legion. The Legion of Mary seeks to increase people’s knowledge, faith and love of God and at the same time increase the faith and holiness of its own members through prayer and service to our Lord, with Mary as its Model.
Active membership is open to all Catholic men and women 18 years of age and over. Young men and women under the age of 18 are welcome to join the Junior Legion of Mary.
Interested in becoming a Legionary and being part of Mary's army? Join us on Monday evenings at 6:00PM or Friday mornings at 10:00AM in Room 5 of the Education Building.

The Junior Legion is an organization for the spiritual development of persons in High School. The group grows in spirituality and partakes in spiritual acts of mercy. This will prepare the youth to become part of the apostolate of the Senior Legion of Mary and productive members of the Catholic Church while striving to achieve their own sanctification.
What does the Junior Legion of Mary do?
Each member must do at least one hour of work each week. This work is assigned at the weekly meeting which all members must attend. Junior Legionaries may teach catechism to young children, visit the sick and elderly, make rosaries and brown scapulars, etc. Age of the member is considered when work is assigned. There is something for everyone!
What benefits can the Junior Legion of Mary bring?
TO OUR PARISH: It forms a spiritual army of youth within the parish of St. Luke. Many worthwhile tasks are performed, which would otherwise be neglected. As a consequence, more blessings are earned, more graces are gained, and more souls are saved.
TO OUR YOUTH: A unique opportunity for spiritual growth is given. No other organization offers a daily program of prayer, a weekly work assignment and the discipline of a meeting each week. In crucial years when formation is so essential, the Junior Legion develops confidence, spiritual and mental growth of the personality. Junior Legionaries stand to gain everything they freely give in service to Mary.
TO OUR CHURCH: Lay Apostles are wanted and needed. A firm spiritual foundation given to our youth will insure a source of supply of Lay Apostles for years to come. As Junior Legionaries, our youth are taught to give to their Church as productive members, rather than to wait for what they can receive. The Junior Legion forms good Catholics now, and better Catholics tomorrow.

Each Child is a Miracle, Each Child is a Story of Love, We are ALL CHILDREN of GOD
The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. The gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the silence of our hearts, where Christ's spirit dwells. The Rosary can be said privately or with a group. - USCCB Website

In difficult times, it is always good to have someone to help you walk in your spiritual journey. In spiritual direction, one reflects with a trained guide, on his or her relationship with God. We have three spiritual directors here at St. Luke the Evangelist:
For Adult Women Only
Elizabeth Virgadamo virg2495@yahoo.com 281-330-2629
For Either Adult Men or Women
Sharron Harrison sharonh2007@sbcglobal.net 713-822-6277
Our directors are here to help Catholics focus on their life with God, as it is lived out in all of their everyday experiences. We generally meet, on a one-on-one basis, for an hour once every four to six weeks. The agenda is what you bring: prayer, images of God, questions of faith, concerns about the Church, choices to be made, relationships, fears, and joys. The director helps you to carefully listen to your life. Through spiritual direction, the directee seeks a deeper relationship with God, and a companion for that quest.
