Feast Day Weekend
The weekend of October 19-20th we will be celebrating the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist at all Masses! Instead of using the Sunday readings, we will be using the readings for the feast. Our 10am Mass will be celebrated multilingually to reflect the many different cultures that are present and active in our parish.

Car Decal Sale Next Weekend
Let’s get ready to celebrate our feast day by purchasing a car decal! St. Luke Car Decals will be sold after all Masses next weekend for $5 each. These can also go on water bottles, coolers, and many other items. Be ready to purchase them next weekend before we run out! All proceeds will go towards our capital campaign.

Pastoral Council
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Pastoral Council or know someone that you feel would be a candidate for this role, please email your name (or the name of the person you are nominating) and contact information to pastoralcouncil@stlukescatholic.com or place the information in a sealed envelope for Fr. Douglas and drop off at the parish office. The deadline to submit your nomination is October 9th. There will be a discernment meeting to choose our next council members.

KC Breakfast
After the 8 AM and 10AM Mass that the Knights of Columbus will be serving a full breakfast in the social hall, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon and beans. All for only $6 per plate, this is part of their Storage Building Fund Raising to build a storage building at our new Church site for all the church ministries to use. They are accepting any additional donations please be generous.

Nigerian Independence
Please join in prayer with our Nigerian Community at St. Luke as they celebrate their Independence Day on Saturday, October 12th, at 5:30pm Mass followed immediately by a reception in the Social Hall. There will be plenty of food and music to lighten the mood. All are welcome!

Children’s Choir
Our Christmas Children’s Choir will be starting up again this Thursday at 6pm! All children who can read through 7th graders are welcome to sing in the choir. At least one parent is required to stay during the entire rehearsal. Please see the bulletin for more information.

Monday Mass and Spanish Confessions Resume
We welcome our parochial vicar, Fr. Antonio Cisneros! Now that he has joined us, Monday Masses will resume beginning this Monday, October 14th. Spanish confessions will also resume this week.

CDA Ribbons and Baked Potato Sale
Perhaps you've noticed the white ribbons around the church grounds. They were put on tress around campus by our Catholic Daughters to highlight the White Ribbon Against Pornography (WRAP) campaign, a nationwide event that is dedicated to spreading awareness on how pornography negatively affects the brain, heart, and world. Quizás hayas notado los listones blancos que rodean los terrenos de la iglesia. No need to cook for game time today. The Catholic Daughters are selling baked potatoes with all the fixin's in the Social Hall after all masses. Get yours with all the condiments for $12 or with condiments and chopped brisket for $15. If a baked potato isn't your thing, they are also selling baked goods such as cakes, pies, cookes, etc. for you to share with your football friends.

Talent Show
Attention: St. Luke Family, as we kick off our Feast Day celebration, the Stewardship Council invites you to the 3rd Annual St. Luke Talent Show on Saturday, October 19th from 6:45-9 PM in the Social Hall. Out of sincere appreciation for the gift of Fr. Jerusalem Gifts Next Week
Next week a group from the Holy Land, Jerusalem Gifts, will be in the Social Hall selling beautiful hand carved religious olive wood items made by Christian families in Bethlehem. Olive wood is the main income for most families, and since the war started, there has been little to no income for many families. Please stop by the Social Hall next week to support these families and their work.
La semana que viene, un grupo de Tierra Santa, Jerusalem Gifts, estará en el salón social vendiendo artículos religiosos de madera de olivo tallados a mano y fabricados por familias cristianas de Belén. Kolbe Ministry Retreat
The Kolbe Prison Ministry Team would like to ask for your help with our upcoming prison retreat at the Clemens Unit in Lake Jackson November 7th - 9th, 2024. Our group is in need of homemade cookies stored in clear one-gallon bags and delivered to the church office no later than Sunday November 3rd. We would also ask you to keep our team and all men in white in prayer during this retreat. Your prayers and cookies are greatly appreciated.

Children’s Choir
Children’s Choir rehearsals for Christmas started last week, but it’s not too late to join! Please meet us in the Education Building on Thursdays at 6pm. At least one parent is required to stay throughout the entire rehearsal.

You have many noticed the stickers on the pew pockets by the hymnals. These stickers have a QR code that leads to the online giving page for the parish. We are encouraging families to participate financially in the capital campaign, and so we that you consider giving a donation. To reach the website, you will need to go to the camera app on your phone, hold it in front of the QR code, and click on the link that appears. you will then be taken to the online giving page. Please be sure to scroll down to the option that says “St. Luke Capital Campaign Fund” and enter the amount you would like to give. Any donation, whether big or small, will be appreciated and help us to continue our mission of evangelization as we work towards building on our Riverstone Ranch campus.
