Our mission is to offer support to the parents in our parish and community, as we assist them in building a better & stronger relationship with their children. Our main focus is to assist our parents with developing & sharpening their parenting skills as well as offer information & referral services to parents who have children under their care who suffer from anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. In the New Testament, St. Luke is referred to as a physician (Greek for 'one who heals'), as with our patron saint, it is our mission to bring healing to our families.

Couple Sponsors is a mentoring ministry that pairs volunteers with married couples who are struggling with understanding and living the fullness God intended for their marriage. Many couples reach out to our priests for marriage counseling. Although our priests are able to offer sound advice and guidance, we have found that pairing couples with parishioners in our parish who have a strong relationship with each other and God, allows couples who are struggling in their marriage get added support by receiving real life advice from couples who have gone through similar experiences.

Volunteers for this ministry are personally chosen by the Pastor. Couple Sponsors is not professional counseling nor is it a comprehensive approach to issues or problems facing various married couples, but rather a mentorship program that allows couples to come together in a laid back/social setting to offer an empathetic ear and share their personal experiences like struggles of parenting, communication issues, caring for aging parents, making it through lean financial times, etc.. Some couples may need additional professional help beyond the scope of this mentoring ministry, however, manytimes all our couples need is a break from their busy and hectic schedules, an empathetic ear and some words of wisdom to help keep them going.

If you would like to be considered as a couple sponsor volunteer or if you think your marriage would benefit from being paired with one of our mentor couples, please contact Lupe Saiz at development@stlukescatholic.com or 281-481-6816 ext 203.
