Original Parish Logo

Our Parish Logo or insignia, which appears on many parish publications, was designed in 1977 by Roy Dupnick. The hand symbolizes St. Luke, the author. The flame represents the inspiration given to St. Luke by the Holy Spirit, and may also represent the inspiration each reader receives from reading the Word of God. The book in the background represents the holy scripture, handed to us through the millennia.

In 2015, as we celebrated our 40th Anniversary, Fr. Guthrie suggested that we start using the Mosaic Inlay of the St. Luke Bull as our new Parish Logo. The inlay resides at the entrance to the St. Luke Cenacle Learning Center at our Riverstone Ranch Campus.
The bull (ox) is also synonymous with service and strength, which reminds us as Christians that we should be prepared to sacrifice ourselves in following Christ.
Our New Parish Logo

In 2022 after several long years of living through so many life changing events, including a historic pandemic, we decided that it was time to ask ourselves: who are we now, what are we called to, how can we proclaim the gospel effectively to the world, how can we support and encourage each other now? The Pastoral Staff along with our bulletin/media staff members worked together to come up with our new parish logo.
The logo is a symbol of who and what we are. In itself it is just a design, like an ornament. But a symbol can carry a lot of weight. A symbol speaks to the heart as well as the head; it represents feelings as well as ideas; it can have emotional power—like the cross. We are saved by the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ—if we accept it. Our symbol/logo will hopefully be a reminder to each one of us that we are a part of St. Luke. We all have a contribution to make. We all belong and are responsible for challenging the people around us to join us in following Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead.

The flame represents the inspiration given to St. Luke by the Holy Spirit, our passion for our faith and the warmth that comes from belonging to a parish family. The Cross represents salvation in Jesus Christ and serves as a reminder that we are all called to take up our cross and follow Him. It is also a call to service--serving God and each other—which is at the center of who we are.  We Are St. Luke!

¡Somos San Lucas!
