Catholic Daughters
MISSION STATEMENT

Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas are united by their faith in Jesus Christ, in their devotion to the Church and the Holy See.

Motto
Unity and Charity

Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) members strive to develop and use God-given talents to influence others positively. Our members represent the hands and feet of Jesus Christ and use education, time and treasure to address the needs of our church and our community. Members utilize the Circle of Love as a guide.

The seven spokes on the Circle of Love represent the following:

  1. Spiritual Enhancement
  2. Leadership attributes
  3. Quality Life
  4. Youth Ministry
  5. Legislation
  6. Education
  7. Family

Our local court, Court Mother of Unity #2292, participates in activities and projects that address each of the spokes on the Circle of Love.

Members:

  • Seek liturgical opportunities and spiritual growth by serving on liturgical ministries, supporting charitable ministries and supporting our clergy, seminarians and deacons.
  • Promote a positive attitude, set goals, encourage two-way communication, promote respect for others, encourage others to take initiative and strive to empower and motivate others.
  • Promote quality of life through involvement in family life and family health issues and environmental issues that affect our community and the world.
  • Foster personal and spiritual growth of our youth, so that they in turn, may serve others through awareness and appreciation of diversity.
  • Stay informed about issues affecting Catholic values by networking and working together with the Bishop’s agenda.
  • Enhance education by offering scholarships, recognizing high school and college graduates, encouraging participation in religious education and promoting literacy through reading projects.
  • Participate in special projects by making contributions to disaster funds; working with Habitat for Humanity projects; encouraging recitation of the Rosary; and supporting our aging religious by providing special dinners, transportation and opportunities for camaraderie and socialization, as well as other forms of assistance.

The court supports special church events and projects, as well as charities. The court has contributed to The Gabriel Project, our troops, student scholarships, our church picnic, our priest appreciation celebration, our seminarian, and additional events and projects. Monetary donations and contributions are made possible through fundraisers such as bake sales, seasonal food sales, parties and other endeavors.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 6:30 p.m. in St. Luke social hall.  A light meal is provided prior to the start of the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
