The Council is an advisory group to the Pastor, whose purpose is to enhance the process of: pastoral planning, developing pastoral programs, evaluating and helping to improve the pastoral effectiveness of various programs and services, assist in promoting pastoral action in the Parish and most importantly, be the “eyes and ears” of the Parish. The pastoral council discerns issues that impact the lives of parishioners. They pray, study and discuss those issues and recommend practical ways of addressing them. Pastoral Council members serve a two-year term (that is renewable once) or one three-year term.
Serving on the Council is a ministry to the whole parish. Potential candidates should be:

  • A registered member of the Parish
  • A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
  • Demonstrate the gifts of wisdom and prudence
  • Willing to commit their time, talent and wisdom in a collaborative manner

Be able to attend monthly meetings of the Council on the 4th Tuesday of the month (at least nine times per year).
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Pastoral Council or know someone that you feel would be a candidate for this role, please email your name (or the name of the person you are nominating) and contact information to pastoralcouncil@stlukescatholic.com or place the information in a sealed envelope (to the attention of Fr. Guthrie) and drop it off at the Parish Office. The deadline to submit your nomination/nominee is October 9. There will be a discernment meeting to chose our next council members.
Thank you!
