Visit of Our Lady of Guadalupe
St. Luke the Evangelist and the Guadalupana Association extended an invitation to all our parish families to join them in celebrating a visit of a special portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe which was a gift to the Galveston- Houston Diocese from the Basilica in Mexico City. The portrait of Our Lady had been visiting parishes throughout the diocese and visited St. Luke on May 12-17, 2010. Many special activities were planned, beginning with a dramatization of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe performed by the Guadalupano Ministry Theater Group, a tribute Aztec dance performed by Danca Azteca from Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and a procession of flowers to our Blessed Mother. In addition, a rosary was held each night at 7:30pm. It was a beautiful and wonderful experience for all who attended.
