On June 17, 1975, the Bishop designated the area between Highway 3, FM Road 2351 (Clear Creek), Telephone Road and Fuqua to become the boundaries belonging to St. Luke the Evangelist. Since we did not have a campus yet, we turned to the community to aid us with facilities and were welcomed by Thompson Intermediate, where we celebrated Sunday Liturgy, and by Sagemont Presbyterian Church, where we held Liturgy on Saturday as well as where we held meetings. Stuchbery Elementary was the facility used for our faith formation classes (CCFF). On July 31, 1977 ground was broken for the new church building. Bishop John L. Morkovsky, Fr. Judice, and Fr. Rouse officiated at the blessings and ground breaking ceremonies. In 1979, our facilities were completed and ready for us to move into as we welcomed 700 founding families to worship at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church!
