Parish Bus Drivers Needed

Our parish needs a pool of bus drivers that we may be able to call upon when events arise requiring transportation using our parish bus. Some examples of events would be retreats, ministry outings, church campus to campus transportation, etc. If you would like to be a part of our St. Luke Bus Driver Team, please contact Lupe Saiz at 281-481-6816 ext. 203 or email development@stlukescatholic.com.

Salary is $17 per hour.

Bus Driver Qualifications

Must have a good driving record as set forth by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger (P) and school bus endorsement (S).
Must be Safe Environment Certified (includes background check).

Bus Driver Duties & Responsibilities
The job generally requires the ability to perform the following duties:

Drive safely along designated routes.
Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
Follow a specific timetable while on duty.
Assist passengers with disabilities to access the bus.
Must communicate effectively with passengers and their employers about any safety concerns or issues that arise due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.
Check the bus tires, lights, gas and oil when needed for basic maintenance.
Have a working knowledge of the proper operation of our parish bus.

Important:

Drug and alcohol use before a shift or while on duty is strictly forbidden. Doing so will result in immediate termination.
Overnight and/or weekend trip salary will be discussed/settled prior to the event.
