Chapter VII, "Sacred Art and Furnishings" in the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, from the Second Vatican Council is devoted to instruction regarding art and environment in the church.
One part of the experience of hospitality is beauty: A space that is beautiful, objects that are beautiful, elevate the human spirit; welcoming us and welcoming our prayer. We have a team of volunteers who work to adorn the church for the various feasts and seasons. Some individuals study the liturgical norms concerning art and environment within the Catholic Church to foster the correct atmosphere and hospitable environment during liturgy.
If you are interested in assisting with Art and Environment or would like more information, please call the parish Liturgy Office at 281-481-6816, ext. 237.
