Ivette Galvan Oviedo
Is our administrative assistant. She joins us with 10 years of experience working within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston beginning in her home parish, Queen of Peace Catholic Church as the administrative assistant. Learning her way around the many roles and job descriptions, she became the Special Projects & Safe Environment Coordinator. Most recently, she worked at Resurrection Catholic Church as the Bulletin Editor and Scheduling Coordinator.
Prior to her employment in the Diocese, Ivette was actively involved in various ministries with in the Hispanic community; Proclaimer, Young Adults Ministry, Charismatic Prayer Group and Music Ministry. Her love for her church and service continued to grow after experiencing a Diocesan Young Adults Retreat, Encuentros de Promoción Juvenil, later becoming a leader with in that ministry.
She is a native Houstonian raised by her parents in the East End area with her two sisters. She has been married for almost 13 years to her husband Jose Carlos Oviedo and are parents to 3 boys, Steven, Joseph and Jacob. In 2016, a year after moving into the Sagemont area, Ivette and her family prayerfully decided to become registered parishioners of the St. Luke Community.
Ivette feels blessed to have the opportunity to serve the parish through administration and looks forward to raising her family in a community that radiates the love to serve one another.
